Born from the Spanish word "animo!", meaning both "cheer up!" and "you can do it!", the name embodies reassurance to the disheartened and encourages excitement to uplift young readers.  

Additionally, name holds yet another layer of significance. "AniMo" serves as a playful shorthand to the world of Animated Movies—a realm where imagination knows no bounds. It encapsulates the essence of dynamic storytelling, where characters leap off the screen and into the hearts of audiences.

Reading is a core life skill.  Despite its importance, there is a sharp decline of reading interest among children, overshadowed by the allure of digital screens and passive entertainment, that impacts their academic, personal, and professional growth. Approximately 40% of students across the nation cannot read at a basic level! 

There is also a growing concern regarding digital addiction with the increasing use of smartphones and other wireless devices by children for studying as well as gaming. The most common activity for children online is accessing software, audio, and video content (44% of children had done so between March 2020 and April 2021). The next most popular activities are using internet-based communications (22%); playing video games (14%); accessing online stores, banks, or payment systems (13%); and reading news media (4%).​
